A delegation from the Constitutional Court of Bulgaria will take part in the Third Annual Conference of the Balkan Constitutional Courts Forum. The event will be held from November 13 to 16 in Antalya. The main topic will be "Standardisation of Human Rights and the Role of Constitutional Justice".
After the first two successful conferences in Sofia and Pristina, host the forum this autumn will be Turkey. In Antalya, the Bulgarian delegation will be represented by the President of the Constitutional Court Pavlina Panova, Constitutional Judges Galina Toneva and Nevin Feti, as well as the Chief Secretary of the Court Valentin Georgiev and the Referent Desislava Kemalova. During the event, Judge Nevin Feti will deliver a report on "Standardisation of Human Rights and the Role of Constitutional Justice".
The Balkan Constitutional Forum was founded on the initiative of the Constitutional Court of Bulgaria on October 27, 2023, in Sofia, with the aim of exchanging experience and good practices between the constitutional jurisdictions of the Balkans on current issues in the field of constitutional justice. The Memorandum of Understanding for Establishment of the regional organization was signed by the Bulgarian Constitutional Court and the constitutional jurisdictions of Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Turkey, and Montenegro. A total of 10 countries participated in the discussions at the first conference in the Bulgarian capital, including representatives of the jurisdictions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Romania, and Croatia.
A year later, on October 24, 2024, the second annual conference of the Balkan Constitutional Courts Forum was held in Kosovo. In Pristina, professional debates between representatives of 7 countries focused on "Developments in contemporary constitutional justice: the example of the Balkan region".
