Law students from St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo visited the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Bulgaria. The group of 35 students had the opportunity to tour the institution and have a meeting with Constitutional judge Nevin Feti.
The second-year students were accompanied by faculty members from the university’s Law School: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hristo Ormandzhiev and Senior Assistant Prof. Dr. Vulyu Anchev.
The visit was part of the course “Constitutional Law,” which covers topics related to the Constitutional Court and its constitutional and legal framework.
In the Constitutional Court’s open session hall, where the swearing-in ceremonies for newly elected judges are held, Judge Nevin Feti presented to the students the main aspects of constitutional review in the Republic of Bulgaria and the institution’s activities.
During the meeting, the composition and powers of the Court, the status of constitutional judges, the procedure for hearing constitutional cases, as well as the legal force and effect of the Constitutional Court’s decisions were discussed.
