The constitutional judges discussed three main topics
A delegation from the Federal Constitutional Court of the Federal Republic of Germany, led by its President, Prof. Dr. Stefan Harbart, paid an official visit to Bulgaria, hosted by the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Bulgaria.
In Sofia, the guests, who also included the Vice-President of the Federal Constitutional Court, Prof. Dr. Ann-Katrin Kaufhold, and Judges Dr. Rhona Fetzer, Mr Thomas Offenloch, Prof. Dr. Martin Eifert and Dr. Miriam Meßling, had a two-day working meeting with the members of the Bulgarian Constitutional Court, led by its President Pavlina Panova.
The topics discussed in the working sessions were: "The Role of the CJEU and the Constitutional Courts in Relation to the Allocation of Competences between the European Union and the Member States", moderated by Pavlina Panova, as well as "Recent Developments in EU Law" and "Freedom of Expression, Fake News and Democratic Resilience", moderated by Prof. Dr. Stefan Harbart.
On the first two topics, Judge Atanas Semov spoke on behalf of the Bulgarian Constitutional Court, and Judge Thomas Offenloch and Judge Dr. Rhona Fetzer made presentations on behalf of the guests.
On the second day, during the working discussion on "Freedom of expression, fake news and democratic resilience", the speakers were Judge Nevin Feti and Prof. Dr. Martin Eifert.
