On July 31, 2026, the Constitutional Court initiated Constitutional Case No. 15/2026 at the request of 50 members of the 52nd National Assembly to determine the unconstitutionality of the Law on the State Budget of the Republic of Bulgaria for 2026. (adopted by the 52nd National Assembly on July 24, 2026; published in the State Gazette, Issue No. 69 of July 31, 2026) due to its inconsistency with Article 4, paragraphs 1 and 3, and Article 5, paragraph 4, of the Constitution.
The reporting judge in the case is Judge Sonya Yankulova.
