On March 26, 2026, the Constitutional Court initiated Constitutional Case No. 8/2026 at the request of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria to determine the unconstitutionality of the Resolution of the National Assembly of March 13, 2026, published in the State Gazette, Issue No. 28 of March 20, 2026, Decision of the National Assembly of March 13, 2026, on taking measures against the price shock caused by high prices of crude oil and natural gas, due to a conflict with Art. 4, para. 1, Art. 8, Art. 105, para. 1, Art. 106, and Art. 114 of the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria.
The rapporteur for the case is Judge Sasho Penov.
