At its sitting on 17 March 2026, the Constitutional Court issued a ruling in Constitutional Case No. 9/2025, reported by Justice Yanaki Stoilov.
The Court rejected the request by 58 members of the 51st National Assembly to declare unconstitutional the Decision of the National Assembly on the election of the Chairperson of the Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP), adopted on May 9, 2025 (published in the State Gazette, Issue 40 of 2025).
Twelve constitutional judges participated in the sitting.
The decision was adopted with 9 votes in favor and with a dissenting opinion by Judges Atanas Semov, Yanaki Stoilov, and Nevin Feti.
