At its sitting of 23 January 2026, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Bulgaria delivered a decision in Constitutional Case No. 3/2026, reported by Judge Pavlina Panova, ruling that the powers of the Rumen Georgiev Radev, President of the Republic of Bulgaria, are terminated prematurely upon the establishment by the Constitutional Court of the resignation submitted by him.
The decision enters into force as of today, 23 January 2026.
The decision was adopted unanimously.
Twelve constitutional judges participated in the sitting.
