Orlin Kolev
Orlin Kolev was born on December 14, 1978, in the city of Vidin. He completed his secondary education in 1996 at the “Tsar Simeon the Great” Secondary School in the city of Vidin. In 2004, he graduated from Southwestern University “Neofit Rilski” in Blagoevgrad with an award for outstanding academic results. In 2012, he obtained the educational and scientific degree “PhD” in constitutional law with the topic of his dissertation “Right to Political Association in the Republic of Bulgaria”.
His professional experience and academic development in the field of constitutional law began in 2006 as a lecturer at the Academy of the Ministry of Interior. Since 2009, he has been an assistant professor in constitutional law at the Department of Constitutional Law at the Faculty of Law of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". He has led lecture courses in the disciplines "Fundamental Human Rights and Their Protection", "Constitutional Law of the Republic of Bulgaria", "Constitutional Control", "Organization of Human Rights Institutions", and "Electoral Systems and Procedures". He has participated in expert groups at the National Assembly in connection with amendments and supplements to laws, as well as in a working group on the adoption of changes to the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria (2015).
In 2017, he was elected by the National Assembly as a member of the Commission for Protection against Discrimination.
In 2025, he was elected as a constitutional judge by the National Assembly.
